We had a very Busy Halloween.
It all started Tuesday night with trunk or treat .

Friday started out early 8:00A.M. Witches hair to crimp and of course she wanted to be a beautiful witch so there was also makeup and sparkles to apply . Then the Halloween parade at 9:30 Kaylee's school.

11:00 A.M. arrive home from one parade get ready for another. 1 hour of crimping a kitty's hair (don't call her a lion). Plus make-up, a nose, whiskers, and we can't forget the sparkles. Off to preschool at 12:00. And back again to see her in her preschool parade at 2:00P.M.
Time for pictures thank goodness no crimping. Sydnie was easy, just throw p.j.'s, Tu Tu and flower headdress on and she was good to go.
Now Briannes turn, reapply whiskers, nose and sparkles and we are ready for our close ups.
After a full day of second grade Halloween parties. Kaylee need a little more help. A touch up on crimping and makeup. Don't you wish you had three girls with enough hair to cover 10!
Now a break for a few hours. Time for dinner, and time to clean up a bathroom full of hairspray and sparkles. And finally, after getting asked only about 20 times how much longer, we head out trick or treating. Here is the whole crew.

Happy Halloween!!!

View from my back door.

There are some downsides to living in Saratoga Springs. The closest grocery store is 10 min away. And the closest real shopping i.e. Walmart, is 20 minutes away. But there are not many people in this world who get to look at this beautiful view when they wake up every morning.

Horses, Pumpkins, and Mission farewells.

Nancy and Heath came with their kids Hannah and Hayden, to stay for the weekend. My girls had lots of fun playing with their cousins, and I finally forced my sister into creating a blog. Hopefully she will learn to appreciate it or I will have to force her to post things too. The kids voted on riding horses at Thanksgiving point for the third time this year. Of course I forgot my camera again. But Nancy saved the day. Later that night my parents came over to my house and we carved pumpkins. The reason for the visit, my nephew C.J. is leaving on his mission to Kenya. Good luck, C.J.! We will miss you.

Brianne said something funny the other day:

Although not recently, Brianne has cut her own hair a couple of times. I was doing her hair and some of the pieces from her most recent haircutting job were falling out of the ponytail. I reminded Brianne that only mommy should cut her hair. And told her that she would get in really big trouble if she ever cut her hair again. My hair cutting scissors just happened to be on the bathroom counter. Now, any one who knows Brianne, knows that she is easily tempted into doing naughty things, just because it looks so fun. Apparently, she knows herself better than anyone, because she looked up at me and said "Mommy maybe you should hide the scissors."

Now here is a cute story about Sydnie:

Sydnie loves to be outside. She is constantly patrolling the doors hoping to find one open. One day she lucked out and found that her older sisters had left the back door open. She crawled out onto the deck and then managed to fall down the deck stairs onto the concrete patio below. I heard her crying and immediately ran out, picked her up, and brought her inside. She was screaming so loudly, I thought she must have really hurt herself. So, I laid her down to check her out. It was then that I noticed she was not crying because she was hurt, she was having a full blown tantrum. She had gone to all that work to get outside, and mom had just brought her right back inside. So, I took her outside, set her on the grass were the girls were playing, and she immediately stopped crying.

Sydnie 's one year old photo's

I actually got Sydnie's photo's taken on time. Well almost, I was a few weeks late. She is a cutie. I am going to have a hard time deciding which one to hang on my wall.

Family Pictures

Last Thursday we went out with Shaun's sister Katie and her husband Jeremey to take family pictures. Katie took pictures of us and I took some of them. I think they turned out well, but I had to do a lot of editing to get one that was good of all of us.

Hiking and fishing along Provo River

It was such a nice day, and the last two weekends were rainy and cold, so we had to do something. Kaylee wanted to go hiking, and Brianne wanted to go fishing, so we decided to do both. We drove up to Provo Canyon and found a little stream to hike along and Shaun went fishing. The girls and I found some leaves and pine cones for Brianne's preschool project and Kaylee found some snake grass and had fun breaking it apart and putting it back together. Shaun caught a couple little fish and the girls had fun touching one of them. At one point the fish flipped out of Brianne's hands and Sydnie even managed to grab a hold of it. That poor little fish was probably mauled to death before Shaun released it back into the water.

Here is a picture of Sydnie on a blanket watching Shaun fish. She loves to be outside. She cries anytime someone goes outside and doesn't take her with them. I don't know what we are going to do in the winter.

Kaylee found a log that had fallen across the stream, it was all I could do to keep her from running back and forth across it. Brianne on the other hand would hardly scoot her way far enough out to take this picture.

MY VERY OWN HALF MARATHON!!!

I finally did it! No crowds to cheer me on, and through wind, snow and even a little hail. I can't complain too much though. I couldn't have asked for a more beautiful run. We ran the whole 13 miles up and down provo canyon. Most of the trees were in their fall colors, it was only snowing lightly and it only added to the beauty of the whole scene. Thank you, to my good friend Audrey for running this half marathon for the second time this year. I couldn't run in the actual race in August because of a health concern. She was good enough to come with me, I could never have run that far alone.

Photobucket

Here are two pictures I took with my phone. They aren't the best quality. But the first is of just one of the many beautiful views we saw, bridal veil falls. And the second is an attempt to take a picture of it snowing I know you can't see it very well but it actually was snowing quite hard.

Witches at Gardner Village

On Friday we met Grandma Huls, Katie and Jeremy at Gardner Village. We had lots of fun looking in the shops and finding all the witches. We especially liked the one in the outhouse and the one flying on her bicycle.

Craw fish and Camping

Shaun took the girls camping last weekend. They went up to Deer Creek Reservoir and made tinfoil dinners and roasted marshmallows. Kaylees says they even heard some coyotes howling. The next day they went up to Strawberry Reservoir and caught a bunch of craw fish. They brought a cooler full of them home. A whole cooler turned into a small bowl of meat by the time they were cooked and shelled. But Shaun said it was good and tasted like lobster.
